Covid Vaccinated πŸ’‰πŸ¦ πŸ§¬ (Updated)

Happy New Year! As always, life happens…hectic, but good busy. And then this happened exactly a week ago.

January 5, 2021. COVID Vaccine, anyone? I volunteer! πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I work for a Long Term Care Facility that works with elderly patients and residents. I wholeheartedly rolled up my sleeves. My parents are so grateful that I had this chance. I guess being in the Philippines, it’s fair to say that I diligently took all sorts of vaccine available and I did the same and so much more for my son. For this time, why not?

We received Pfizer and BioNTech. There’s no choice between this and Moderna. We just excitedly lined up for it. I have two more weeks until the 2nd dose. Again, this does not mean I get a free pass to not wear masks, etc. …Keeping this in mind on how long does it take to become immune if you get the COVID vaccine. In fact, plot twist, right after we received this, I had to take the weekly test. And the very next day at work, we’re on lockdown. I had to take a rapid test so they’ll allow me in one of the facility where I had a new resident admission. Then the afternoon, I had to take the usual test. Then same day yesterday, another COVID-19 Test. Thankfully, turnaround time for results are coming in fast. This is our way of life…temperature check, medical mask (when I see my team on N95s and Face Shield, it means there’s something), social distancing, weekly testing…all for an abundance of caution.

Covid-19 15-Minute Antigen Test

I’ve received DMs asking me how I feel? So far, Day 1-3, it’s just the usual soreness and heaviness on the injection site. No lump. I’ll keep this post sticky when I get my second dose. Here’s hoping for the best…keep safe…this too shall pass. πŸ™πŸ»

February 5, 2021

I finally got my second dose last January 26.

I did it! For my loved ones, for my friend, for my residents and for myself, I got my COVID-19 Vaccine!

Many have reached out to me check in on me, thank you, I’m okay! As our words and thoughts are magical, I just didn’t really think about it! Much how I was told by my doctor on not to google my symptoms especially at night, I stayed away from all stories about the risks and aftermaths of it. I just kept myself busy at work, distracted and entertained every single day on my downtime…doing things I love (you know πŸ˜‰, like shopping, going to the salon, eating my fave food, visiting my chiropractor, Korean dramas etc., follow me on IG @chicsassymom ). I am on anti-allergy meds, so I took that as usual. I did take acetaminophen after and days after. Arm was sore and heavy for Day 1-3, it radiated to my upper back, shoulders and nape, I just lathered essential oils ( I love Pain Release and Pep Halo of Saje Oils). I just felt extra tired, I kept yawning. That’s all, for now! πŸ™πŸ»

As of late, vaccine or no vaccine, I’m still trying not be overwhelmed, still trying hard to just think happy and positive thoughts…manifesting…repeating mantras and word of affirmations… πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Eyes forward. Mind focused. Heart Ready. Game on, world! πŸ™ŒπŸ»
