Review: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

Happy Monday! Pore-less? Getting there! ^_^ Anyhow, I actually consider my facial pores on the a-ok side, not too prominent, but not entirely pore-less per se. I’m still using primers and the likes to create the coveted effect, I have this and this too. But it takes seeing someone in person (outside of Korean Drama world…haha!) to truly dream of the beauty there is in being naturally pore-less because some people are just gifted….*sigh! envy much! It is such a beautiful trait to behold. So I told myself, hopefully it’s not too late, to go for it. While, I know it takes a whole lot more to get a beautiful skin (diet + genes + cosmetics + lifestyle etc.), but hopefully with the advancements in skincare products, I can get there somehow. So here I am, committed more than ever to try out d.i.y. pampering treatment, and I just can’t get enough of the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. ;-D

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask with Scoria and Green Complex. After reading about them from a friend, I tried a sample that was included on my recent eBay haul, and I got hooked. I just had to get more.  As you can see from the watermark, I have them a while back, they’re included in my not-so-recent-Korean Cosmetics haul.

We don’t have (yet) Innisfree Philippines, so I got them from my fave eBay seller. First off, this is not a sponsored post. This a buy-it-now eBay purchase for 10 pcs. Sells now for Php 22/pack. ;-D A pack goes a long way, about three applications, or if you’re dead-serious in using them, a pack per week. I have about 5 packs left from about 15 packs…8 weeks more or less of using them. It’s my mainstay mask. Not to preempt, but that’s how much I like it.

It’s a creamy clay-type mask. It’s almost unscented.

Masked. It’s easy to apply, no mess/frills application even. It doesn’t harden/tighten. It won’t hurt a bit too smile. ;-D  It just dries up, leaves a powdery feel.

How to use? Use it as you would a mask sheet.

• After washing the face, apply toner, pat dry. 
• Make sure to keep hair off the face, dot five areas (forehead, both cheeks, nose, chin), spread, massage gently in circular motion covering the entire face (or as needed). Option to cover thickly. I like to leave it thick. 
• Leave on for 15-20 minutes.
• Rinse with luke warm water. Finish off with cold water. 
• Depending on skin type, you can opt to proceed to your usual skin care line (emulsion, serum, cream, etc.) 

I generally have a combination, sensitive skin type. Theatrics aside, with regular usage plus a suited basic skincare routine, the mask leaves the skin feeling and looking soft, supple, simply put, nice! It has pore minimizing/tightening and sebum-controlling effects without drying. In a way, it provides a good balance in terms of moisturizing and oil-control. If you’ll read more of it here, I’m also keeping it handy for my seasonal breakouts. It has a calming, soothing effect, a la anti-inflammatory on small or medium, and red zits, that is if I’m sure they’re not insect bites/itchy (then I applied something else ^_*). The first application leaves an instant soft and velvety feel. With my commitment to adhere to a day and night skin care routines, which suit me, plus using this mask regularly, I’m getting there…pore-less, hopefully youthful looking skin, the works. #myKoreanDream ^_^

I just have to say this again, I’m an avid fan of Korea Cosmetics, because I see Korean ladies (in drama and in person) being gifted with radiating beautiful skin, even without BB Creams and the works. Of course, a bigger credit could be with their vegetables-packed diet? Or just genes? Weather? Or maybe because their skincare and cosmetics industry is simply more than great? I think all of the above. So yes, on with being a Korean fangirl.

Overall, since the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask is working mighty fine with me, I’m open to expand trying out their other lines (BB Cream, Sun Cream, etc.) I have few of them already, so please stay tuned for the reviews. I recommend it to those who have a combination (oily/dry) and sensitive skin. Will I repurchase? Definitely. In fact, I just did for another set of 10 sample packs, but my sister wanted them for herself. So I’m waiting for another good eBay deal. Or I might ask a friend to get it for me in Seoul for 12,000 KRW for the 100ml Tub. ;-D
