Probiotic Drinks–Everyday OK! ✌ (Updated)

Everybody, everyday… OK! 🙂

Few days ago my son had a sudden attack of diarrhea, and he actually started to complain of feeling too full even though he didn’t really had a lot! 😦 That time, since non-working holidays already started, I prayed that it would not worsened to avoid a trip to the ER. I’ve been told not to give any medicines for diarrhea to my son, at least like the ones that are commercially sold and advertised. This is to make sure that whatever toxins he ingested, if any, would be out of his digestive system. So we actually have to weather these episodes. Hydrating is the key word! Well, my son likes Gatorade than the oral hydrates available, so I gave in to this rare occasion….and as always aqua! 🙂
Bear Brand Probiotic Drink in Strawberry Flavor
Fortunately or unfortunately though, his appetite remains the same, we just tried to avoid giving him fatty foods so as not to worsen this episode. I also fed him apples and bananas in between. Ultimately, bless thee the invention of probiotic drink, the good old and ever reliable Lactobacillus casei shirota strain found in Yakult (thanks to Dr. Shirota) and at least the 4 Billion Lactobacillus Fortis + Zinc in Nestle Bear Brand Probiotic Drink, a relatively new player in the category,  in two days time, my son’s upset tummy and diarrhea went away! 🙂
Drink Yakult Everyday…Everyday OK!
I’m actually calmer this time, because I’ve seen how probiotic health drinks actually helps the overall digestive system conditions…very true and effective for my family! 🙂 We actually use them both as first aid and also as part of our daily dose of good bacteria! 🙂 My husband still prefers the taste of Yakult vs. others. My son both loves them! 🙂 But I now prefer giving him Bear Brand because of the Zinc factor (approximately 15% of RENI) and the Strawberry flavor, which my son loves all the more! 🙂

Oh wow! Because I’m a busy bee, I couldn’t do a separate post about the recent Yakult Light variant. So here goes…

Yakult Light
60 Calories for the Original Yakult vs. 45 KCal (Energy in Small Calories). In large/food calories, this is also 45 calories.  Same price, same taste, same benefits (Php 60 ++/pack).  #HappyDance

For yours truly, who’s into calorie-counting diet, every calorie counts, few calories off a la savings are precious, means more food to eat. Hah.

Cheers to being Healthy and Safe! ♥
