The Rise of Do It Yourself (DIY)

2010. We attended a class to learn how to do balloon arrangements. Since my sister and myself are addicted to hosting parties for our sons (see my Parties Page), we wanted to save just a little bit so we said we will do our own balloon decorations and other DIY Party efforts . We were even hoping to make a business out of it. We didn’t. It’s soooh hard. We ended up late for our son’s parties. πŸ˜… I’ve graduated since, but she’s still actively doing it. And she’s telling me it’s mighty easy now. Then 2020 happens, it’s officially a DIY Stay at Home Movement!!! I’m still trying to keep up. πŸ˜…πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Anyone can cook! Well, if I can help it, I prefer not too. But I’m supposed to be natural, I’m from Pampanga.
I’m so glad that we can do Korean BBQ Feast (c/o my chinggu, just look at the intricacy of the set-up πŸ‘πŸ») | Because I’m doing Keto Diet , sort of, I’m so happy there’s Cauliflower…from pizza crust to fried rice. Pizza is Milton’s Cauliflower Crust Pizza from Costco, it’s vegetarian, I just added meat and cheese and more leftover Chinese Sausage. It’s very very good. You will not know it’s cauliflower. | Every so often, I make rice bowls, DIY Bibimbap etc.
Home Improvement. Pre-pandemic, Nuts and Bolts, I was clueless. My mind shutdown. Then I tried. I can do this…to some degree! Top Photos: From Wayfair, Dining Set and Coffee Table. | Ikea: Oh my Ikea!!! You are a handful. No wonder you are priced very well because the labor and efforts are immense. I only did the futon couch, two drawers of 6 ( that’s all the time and energy I had!) and the shoe rack. I’m feeling accomplished! Is it too early to say…one and done?! 🀭
Even photo shoots are DIY. Even the home studio. I played model for a day. I feel like in a Korean Drama…Record of Youth with Park Bogum.
This is my sister’s DIY 40th Birthday setup. She said it’s so easy. Professional.
This is her Naruto Birthday Party Theme for my nephew. Again…she swears that Balloon Pillars are easy peasy. Shocks! I remember the blood, sweat and tears we gave to make one pillar.

So yes, stay at home and join the DIY movement…curls, hair cut, hair color (check out my IG @chicsassymom) , even stock market (meet Robinhood), language classes, and what have you. I would do it, but I know my capabilities so I don’t make my own bread, but I know a lot of people do now. I cannot do my own nails (so I braved going to a nail salon). It’s hard to keep up. Gosh. It’s okay, I’m trying my very best. What are you working on?

P.S. I migrated to a new platform, so some links are missing. Please use the search button just in case a link is not working. Sharing is caring. Let’s be social. ❀️
