Kocowa or Viki or Netflix | Life after Dramafever Shutdown #FangirlProblem

Annyeong, cinggu! πŸ€—

The struggle is real. Truly, life without Dramafever is unpleasant and uncomfortable. Dramafever offered a wide range of choices both for classic and current Korean and Chinese dramas (e.g. Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and Love 020). So even though I have subscription for Viki Pass Plus, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, I needeed Dramafever in my life. This is the first weekend that I found myself browsing all three of them, and just couldn’t find the right drama to watch (separation anxiety much πŸ˜…). So I went on to subscribe to Kocowa.

Me and my Korean Dramas over a glass of Pinot Noir. #MeTimeΒ

I was here for My Secret Terrius (Terius Behind Me). I’ll give it a try, and will see. But I’m missing a lot of interface that Dramafever and Viki offer.

NEW page. Shows off all of the episodes that are uploaded. It can go on and on. I don’t like it. It is time confusing to scroll down to look for a drama. I like to still just see the latest episode uploaded and just option to select episodes.Β

There’s no reviews, and it is just hearts. There’s no option to drill down or double click for other works of actors and actress unlike Viki and yes, Dramafever. So far, I don’t see Chinese Drama. I’m not sure if I’ll stick around, so we’ll take it one drama at a time.

Viki Pass PlusΒ

Annyeong, I’m Noona Des, even on IG for strictly fangirling stuff 🀫, follow me, let’s fangirl together. Oops, look at my Followed Shows, they’re currently mostly Chinese and Taiwanese dramas because I adore Deng Lun and Mark Zhao.

Viki Pass Plus Interface on Popular Korean and Chinese DramasΒ

Viki is not perfect. But for the meantime, to feed your drama soul, Viki is it.

Netflix US Korean Movies and Dramas

For Netflix, you can drill down to Korean Movies, Dramas, and Romantic Dramas, but as shown, Korean shows a mix of Korean and Chinese movies and dramas like Meteor Garden 2018. With the recent Mr. Sunshine, episodes with English subtitles came out very timely unlike with Something in the Rain. So this is definitely an improvement, and I’m hoping for the best…more dramas in their library both classic and current, more Chinese (pretty, please!), and better user-interface like updated main artist/leads in the info page, and forward (10-second) button, which I need when I do re-runs.Β  Though Netflix is my window to the other world, having my Asian Dramas are super sweet icings on the pie.

Lastly, I also have Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon Prime Video Korean Dramas and Movies Library

If there’s a Prime notation, it means you can watch it. If it doesn’t, it usually shows where you can watch it.

Korean Movies and Dramas available for Prime Video Subscribers

100 Days My Prince is not available via Prime. Before the shutdown of Dramafever, it tells you that you can watch it via Dramafever. Now, it tells you that it’s currently unavailable and option to add to Watchlist. Basically, Prime Video holds their own library of movies and dramas of all kinds and genre. Plus, it’s also a marketplace for some shows, it shows you where to watch them, if there’s a site or app that’s available. But so far, most of the exclusive Dramafever shows like Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, it’s just unavailable. How sad. πŸ™ˆ

When fickleness happens, it seems there are so many dramas, but I just want something that was only on Dramafever before. πŸ™‰#FangirlProblem I’m currently stuck. I don’t feel like going back to the illegal streaming sites because the ads just get to me. So please, I’m hoping that something’s cooking over there at Warner Brothers to bring back a bigger and better Korean and Chinese Dramas and Movies streaming site and app. Pretty, please. Okay, thank you. Bye! ✌🏻
