Oh my, Fremont… I love it here. It’s near everything…
San Francisco, Palo Alto, Facebook HQ, and most outlet stores. Though at the onset, there’s no tourist spot that makes for a purposive trip to Fremont, except maybe for the food choices known for being diverse and gastronomically delightful, and when you love antiques. It’s just not one antique shop, it’s a whole street of picturesque boutiques …Niles, California. It’s historic, charming, and beautiful.Β

Niles Essanay is home to the silent films of Charlie Chaplin, Gloria Swanson and the first cowboy movie star, Bronco Billy. It keeps the spirit of silent films alive and is a resource for all facets of silent filmmaking.Β |

Awww…Stroll down memory lane with the picturesque antique shops, ice cream shops (there’s a lot of ice cream here, and I love the Ube (taro) ice cream andΒ Tyme for Tea.Β |
Now, for the best part, antique shops overload. Look!

Hummel and Goebel. This, my friend, is the winner. We ended up collecting them. Will do another post.Β |
We love it here. My aunts would agree. They live in Los Angeles, and they came for a visit last time, for the first time in a while, and now they’re coming back, of course to see us, but also to go back at Niles. They collect Hummel, Capodimonte, Lladro, Madame Alexander dolls, and everything else in between. It’s thanks to them that we are discovering the joy of collecting
fine English and China waresΒ and now, Hummel too. Awww Niles, how nice. It’s here that I’m discovering my vintage soul. This fuels my shopaholic nature, except now, I shop with a purpose π
π…collecting antiques, which are stuff and trinkets that are cultural, educational, and classical. I do love to collect so this is just so my cup of tea. And hubby agrees. Oh, sooo this is going to be exciting. Let’s do this! Cheers! βπ»
