#ChicSassyMomTravels | Snowy Spring Day ☃️

Oh my, I have a bad case of vacation hangover. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I had to take inspiration from Frozen….I just have to let it go!

Anyhow, if you’re following me on IG (@chicsassymom), we had a nice, short but oh so sweet spring break. While my FB feed is (still) flooded with cherry blossoms, European, Korea and Japan, and summer posts (envy much), I also did my share of flooding my feed with Southern and Northern California vacay posts. It’s a week spent all over Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Arizona, Nevada, then back to Bay Area.  It’s a nice change to be touring family who were visiting instead of us being the tourist, we are now California locals. Haha.🤗So much to see, so little time, and a nice Saturday day trip to Reno to sweetly cap off the spring break with snow flurry to boot. 🌨

Cloudy weather with a chance of snow. ☃️

I was following the weather in Norden, Soda Springs, Lake Tahoe, and Reno. With so much snow still falling early March, I was hoping that there’ll be more snow in time for my sister’s visit. It was my mistake to assume that I will still find shops selling snow boots, pants, and shoes late March. So we didn’t have snow outfit, and as first timers, we really didn’t know how to go about skiing, snow boarding, etc. We only did snow tubing in Chicago last time, but our friends came prepared, we were all geared up for snow play. So we decided just to hope for the best to find a nice snowy stop on our way to Reno for Circus, Circus for the boys. I chose Reno, because I remember a nice rest area on the way there with lots of snow. Yay! It’s a nice white spring day.

Annyeong, Olaf! ⛄️

Right after Boreal Mountain Resort, there’s Donner Pass Rest Area. I found it! It’s the same stop we went last time where Chase and I had the first experience of snow flurry.

Donner Pass Rest Area

We had to walk to the nice snowy spot. It’s super tricky considering we’re not wearing snow boots. I fell. They fell. We’re wet! We’re frozen! 😅🌨

But my, these moments….priceless! 💫

#OOTD : Abercrombie & Fitch Coat | Marc New York | Ugg Boots 💃🏻

Check in bucket list. ✅#SnowAngel 🌨👼🏻

Unlike last time, I was more adventurous. Hah. My Abercrombie & Fitch coat is water resistant methinks, so I tried for the first time…snow angel! 😇 J’adore! I still think I’m too old for snow play, I’m scared of frost bite, falling, broken bones, etc. Hahaha. The beauty of living in the Bay Area is it’s just hours drive away from Soda Springs. So maybe, I’ll loosen up a bit and let my son enjoy some snow play, but we’ll come prepared. You ought to know I love dressing up for winter, so next time, I will expand my choices with consideration to functionality (hello, North Face and Superdry) so will be ready to play more. Aja! Aja! Fighting! Cheers! ✌🏻
