Luxurious Chinese New Year at Spiral

Bonjour! Mabuhay! Life is beautiful. My first media event for this year was a luxurious lunch buffet at Spiral of Sofitel Manila for the preview of the auspicious Chinese New Year special menu. Happy New Year! ;-D

La Veranda at the New Spiral

One of the highlight of the New Spiral, aside from the 21 Dining Ateliers, is the La Veranda.  It’s an adjoining indoor lounge with access and view of the iconic lagoon-shaped pool of Sofitel Manila.

Start the festivities with the Dragon Dance on the 9th and 10th February.  Enjoy the Chinese New Year’s Eve or day with auspicious food specially prepared for the celebrations.  Start with an appetizer such as Chinese Raw fish salad (Yee Sang), eight treasure fish lip soup then move to the wok station where you can sample wok fried scallop with XO chili sauce,  wok fried sparerib with golden garlic Cantonese style.  At the noodle station make sure you try the Bak Kut Teh noodle soup and complete the meal with roasted Peking duck.  Save the best for last with Chinese desserts such as warm sweetened coconut milk with sweet potato and warm papaya white fungus soup.

Book a private dining room in advance which can accommodate 12 people.

Oh yes, that’s 21 Dining Ateliers! Wow! In France, an atelier is an artist’s special workshop, and in Spiral it is where secret recipes are masterfully prepared right before your very eyes. The range of cuisines is expansive and the attention and detail to each dish has the focus of an artisan.

More feasting follows. The Orient Express Fashion Show features the Orient Express collection of Dubai based designer,  Albert Andrada in cooperation with shu uemura.

Overall, this is heaven for a gourmand like me. In fact, I’m already satiated just by looking at all the extravagant food options, cuisine varieties, intricate and elaborate preparations and presentations. It must be the luxurious and elegant vibe all over…Spiral emanates a royal buffet! C’est Magnifique! Truthfully, there must be an art in conquering going around all those 21 dining ateliers. I wonder what and how. I need practice. In time…

Brunch rate set at Php2950+++for adults. Php 1500+++ for children aged 4-11 on February 10, 17, and 24.

Dinner rate set at Php 2750+++for adults. Php 1350+++for children aged 4-11 years old on February 9 and 10.
