Skin Food Gold Caviar Toner, Skin Food Gold Caviar Collagen Serum, Skin Food Gold Caviar Collagen Cream, SkinFood Platinum Grape Cell Toner, SkinFood Platinum Esssence #MustHave |
My skin care type is that of sensitive + combination (dry/oily) skin. My beloved country offers only sunny and rainy seasons, which are both very humid regardless. Yes, I’m blessed to enjoy A/C sleeping environment, but my work now requires me to be on the field, expose to sun, pollution, name it. So depending on the season, and some hormonal irregularities during that time of the month, I usually have oily skin. My pore size are unremarkable. But I do have breakouts every so often from the sensitivity factors that I couldn’t really account for precisely, and I have age spots/pigmentation on my cheeks. I’m fairly okay, except that I’m thoroughly vain being vigilant now that I’m of that age. LoL*

Facial Cleansers/Wash: Skin Food Tea Tree Cleansing Foam, Skin Food Green Tea Milk Cleansing Gel (Fresh), Skin Food Green Tea Milk Cleansing Foam (Fresh) |
Please see detailed post of the following Skin Food facial cleansers here. My basic makeup includes a BB Cream, blush, and lipsticks. The SkinFood Milk Cleansing Gel and Foam usually take care of removing the makeup. I’m not too fond of eye makeup, don’t get me wrong, I love the dramatic impact of eyeliners, mascara and all, but the removing part is so tedious. If I do apply, I use SkinFood Makeup Tissue Removers, The Face Shop Herb Day Lip & Eye Remover, Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Tissue, and Skin Food Black Sugar Cleansing Oil to take care of the cleansing part.

SkinFood Platinum Grape Cell Toner and Platinum Grape Cell Essence |
The SkinFood Platinum Grape Cell line is my favorite to date. I got these just March of this year as part of my latest Seoul Shopping (Thanks to Mommy Wendy!;-D), it must be that I’m using them in the morning, that they lasted this long. I reckon that they’re just both 1/3 full, and I need to do the repurchase very soon. The hygienic pump for both makes using them easy and conducive, unlike the Toner of Gold Caviar. I will do a more detailed review of the line next. The essence leaves the right level of nourishing and moisturizing, since I apply sunscreen, then BB Cream or Foundation right after. Not to preempt, I have to say the line is very suited for our weather, and for all skin types. To note, this is the most expensive line sold in local Skin Food Philippines stores.
For my dedicated sunscreen, I have two that I use alternately, SkinFood Gold Kiwi Sun Cream and The Skin Shop Iris Power Whitening Sun Cream.

Innisfree Jejubija Anti-trouble Line |
Except for the facial wash of this line, I can’t seem to live without this line, since I don’t have the full sizes, I make do with alternating usage of at least one item to incorporate to both my morning and night regimen. I often apply the emulsion or the cream to my forehead, which is the usually pimple-prone area. This line is also my must-have post eyebrow waxing and threading skin care routine.
Night Skin Care Routine
Laziness and sleepiness aside, this is the time I let my skin indulge to as much beauty care products. So yes, the more, the merrier! ;-D

Skin Food Gold Caviar Toner, Gold Caviar Collagen Serum, Gold Caviar Collagen Cream |
Prior to getting the full size last December 2011’s SkinFood Seoul Shopping, I actually finished a hefty trial packs and mini gift sets of the line. I’m so fond of the line that I ended up getting the makeup lines of this as well. But came summer time, I realized that the line is too rich in terms of moisturizing to be used full line (Toner + Collagen Serum + Collagen Cream) during day time. So prior to having the Skin Food Platinum Grape Cell line as morning alternative, I skipped on the cream application. Please note that the Gold Caviar Serum and Cream comes with a regular non-Collagen variants. And the full line includes Emulsion, plus more. I’m not just too fond of the scent of the emulsion, so I decided to skip it. Naturally, with my age and relative to my needs, I went for those with Collagen variants. Two of my aunts, and my sister in law, who all live in the US, thus enjoying colder weather than yours truly, are also a fan of this line. Net of weather considerations, I think that this line is best suited for dry skin. A detailed review and swatches will follow soon.
Korean Facial Masks Overload ;-D
![]() |
I love! I have Laneige, Dermal, The Face Shop, Missha, Nature Republic, Etude House, and a whole lot more. ;-D |
Once or twice a week. I go for exfoliating masks the likes of SkinFood Lavender Tea Salt Mask Foam, Rice Mask Wash-off, and more. In between, I go for facial mask sheets. I did several posts of them too. Please search, or narrow down the options on my labels. My staple must-have mask that I use once or twice a week is the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. While, the Skin Food wash-ff masks, such as the Royal Hydro Massage Gel and the Acorn Jelly Mask, offer satisfactory nourishing and moisturizing benefits, given time and ease of application considerations.
Eye Creams
I’m using these alternately. Thankfully, I don’t usually have under eye dark circles, except on those all-nighter shindigs dedicated to my precious Korean Dramas. But I do have a bag or two, and the periorbital lines at the side of my eyes are also becoming more prominent, so yes, I apply eye cream like crazy. But so far, I didn’t fully realize the reinforced anti-wrinkle effects from these, but more of some firming, brightening, and moisturizing benefits. I’ve been using the longest the SkinFood Platinum Grape Cell Eye Cream, I appreciate the refreshing and moisturizing effects. But for a couple of months now, I started incorporating the Innisfree Eco Science Wrinkle Spot Essence prior to applying eye cream. I noticed reinforced firming effects under eye vs. using eye cream alone.
That’s all for my skin care regimen. I advocate being on preventive mode, I regret that I didn’t get on it sooner. I have drugstore or supermarket skin care brands that work for me too (Pond’s, Dove). It’s a blessing in disguise that I find the likes of SK-II or La Mer as exuberantly overpriced to my current economical state, otherwise, I don’t know! LoL* I believe that you develop a certain level of dependency to a brand or variant, that in as much as you want to be no-frills, use whatever available, some adverse reactions occur every so often as an immediate effect of change, and that’s when brand loyalty and the contrary happens. My workaround is to introduce change gradually, incorporate one new item at a time. This is also a way to easily identify cause of adverse reactions, if any. I give it at least 3 days to see. 7 Days is too long for me. Keep it or ditch it. At the end of the day, it’s all about getting the right skin and beauty care products, that are most appropriate for your skin type relative to product price and availability.
What’s your skin and beauty care regimen? Please do share! Cheers! ;-D
Prepare your list again. I'm going back there this september… Mga two weeks lang kami doon hehehe…
