I’m uber addicted to the scent (love, love, love) of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, and of course the overall appeal that they evoke that I found myself getting more colors. I novelized my love for Monte Carlo
here. I’ll walk you through some of the new colors I added, namely Milan, Addis Ababa, Antwerp, and Amsterdam.

I got Amsterdam by mistake, I was hoping to get Antwerp. But lucky I got it, because this I think is another must have’s when going for the perfect Snow White-ish lips. ;-D

Once you found a suitable workaround to prevent drying, chapping etc. lips with matte lippies, NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are must have’s, as in! More emphasis should be given on applying a perfect lip balm before applying the lip creams. I recommend getting a petrolatum free lip balm ala EOS caliber, so as not to compromise the lasting power of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. And voila! They’re truly nice to have. I hope to get more.

It took me a while to get a good try of the Antwerp shade. I have some issues on pigmentation. I’m used to wearing them over EOS lip balm, but when I did it with Antwerp, I can’t get the full matte effect. I can’t get it to work like how San Paulo does. My lip lines tend to be very prominent too. I can only surmise that it has to do with the formulation, the manufacturing date of Antwerp was 4/11/11, while San Paulo’s 11/11/10. The color is aptly suited for spring. Oh well, since I’m living in a sunny country, it’s something I can wear every time I feel like it. ;-D I’ll update you if I see any improvement, overtime, I can only hope it would work as well as my other NYX Soft Matte Lippies. 😀

Hmm, at first I thought they're both Reddish, and all the same, but I think I'll still go for Monte Carlo. It's just that I was comfy wearing it even during my grocery, banking errands. When I wore, Amsterdam, and I was not that dressed up, I think, it stand out so much because it has a brighter reddish shade. 🙂

Hi Emsy! I missed your concern, they really look nice without lip balms before applying. So I recommend getting a good night treatment/application of lip balm before the day so as not to used lip balm before. But if still you find it drying, you can still use a lip balm before, just make sure you used a good all natural one. 🙂

Thanks for giving me an idea on putting lip balm first before applying the lip cream, I better order an EOS lip balm soon. :)I also got my NYX lippies from Digital Traincase. However, unlike you, I only got 2 SMLC shades and I also tried their Matte Lipsticks so I got 2 Matte shades.I'm planning to buy more since I'm overly raving about these lip creams! There is so much to LOVE about the scent!Which do you think is a better shade? Milan or Addis Ababa..? I can't pull off red and bright red shades so I'm pretty sure that Monte Carlo and Amsterdam's not for me. I'm also considering Stockholm, :)I have Antwerp and Istanbul.. ^^,Thanks in advance :*

Awww… You're most welcome. 🙂 Milan is more for everyday/anytime lip color. Addis is really too bright pick, so I have to consider other things. It's not a color that I can comfy wear going to the supermarket type errands. haha 🙂 It must be my age too. But I'm sure it will be fine with you. 🙂 I love San Paulo shade though, it's the go between shade between red and pink, safer, and more versatile.
